The company was eventually acquired by Ashland and the Valvoline brand of oil is known worldwide. | Veltex was the brand name used by the Idaho-based Fletcher Oil Co., which still has a limited operation in the Pacific northwest region. | The design of this road map is identical to that used by Amoco to celebrate the United States' bicentennial in 1976. In fact, Amoco originated the design, and in addition to its own road maps, the design was chosen by Citgo and Vickers for their bicentennial road maps.
