This boldly-colored map of Uganda, Kenya, and Tanganyika was
issued in 1957 by the local Standard-Vacuum subsidiary.
Stanvac, as the company was known, was a equally-owned
partnership between Standard of New Jersey and Socony Vacuum
operating in Africa and Asia, and paired Jersey's production
facilities with Socony's marketing operations in that region.
Shown with Pegasus are a handful of wildlife creatures native
to the eastern African territory covered by this map.

This 1959 Mobilgas map of South Africa was issued by the
Vacuum Oil Company of South Africa, a subsidiary of
Socony-Vacuum. This map, which is printed in English and
Afrikaans, is part of a series with watercolor covers showing
local scenes.
